Mark Elliott was President of Hodges Ward Elliott (“HWE”) until his passing in June 2021. In his role, he served as the strategic leader of the firm’s various business lines. Mark sold more hotels than any other individual in the United States, representing more than 1,500 hotels with 300,000 rooms and over $50 billion in value.

Mark was co-chairman of the Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council (“IREFAC”) and was mentioned annually as the leading hotel broker by Real Estate Forum, Commercial Property News, and other publications. He wrote articles for Real Estate Finance Journal, authored a chapter in the Hotel Investment Handbook, and was quoted as a lodging industry expert in the Wall Street Journal.

Mark was a recipient of the prestigious “Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year” award and the “C. Everett Johnson” industry awards and was one of the hotel sector’s most recognized spokespeople and experts.
